The Midwest Distance Summit is back this year at North Central College. This year, it will be a one-day affair on Tuesday, August 4th. We have a tremendous line-up again this year, featuring some excellent Midwest coaches from both high-school and collegiate level. They represent some of the finest minds in distance running in the Midwest and throughout the United States. The line-up for 2008 features the following excellent presenters:
- Tim Broe, former multiple state champion from East Peoria, Illinois and 2004 Olympic 5,000m finalist. Another of Illinois' finest runners!
- Robert Chapman, is the current coach for Team Indiana Elite and is based at Indiana University in Bloomington.
- Jeremy Rasmussen, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, women's cross-country and distance track and field coach.
- Shawn True, recovery therapist and physiology expert.
- Dave Racey, Dave has been the head boys' cross country coach at Naperville North High School since 1994. His team have consistently placed in the top ten at the Illinois State Championships and were state champions in 2009 and placed third at the Nike Cross Nationals last fall.
All clinic participants will receive clinic notes, a breakfast and lunch, as well as a DVD on core training from Running DVDs. com.
